If you live near a beach, lucky you! Most of us don’t, but that does not mean that we love the beach less, right? Many of us have dreamed about a beach wedding, but if you live too far away and can’t afford a destination wedding. I can hear you saying "I want a beach wedding no matter what! Well, you can bring the beach to you with all the beach favors and accessories with which to decorate your reception. You’ll find beach wedding favors that include sea shell and sea life themed favors, lighthouse, or sailboat themed wedding favors. There is no reason you can't create a wedding reception that fits your dream and style.
After the wedding cake, the centerpiece on the master table at the wedding reception is the most important piece of art in your wedding reception, though, if you are having a buffet table for your food, you will want a centerpiece for this as well. It should also be a striking focal point. May I suggest that instead of a typical ice sculpture, that has been done to death, that a table top Seashell Water Fountain centerpiece with water running down through the seashells would be an exciting way for the food to be displayed?
For the remaining tables at your beach wedding reception either choose another handcrafted sand sculpture or a candle surrounded by sea shells either chocolate preferably authentic. Hurricanes large enough to add sand with the candle in the middle and seashells surrounding the candle would look lovely. Or you could go more nautical with small ships and lighthouses. Flowers always look lovely and work well with seashells among the arrangements. You can find many pictures of ideas for weddings already done and you can get ideas from these to make your own. Even the Seashell Water Fountain Centerpiece can be made by you and you can get instruction on how to do-it yourself.
Serve Hors d'oeuvres and appetizers with picks on topped of seashells. Hors d'oeuvres look so great sitting on the half shell. Anything goes for food on the buffet table. Here are some menu ideas:
A Seafood Buffet; Starters: Crab Salad and Gulf Shrimp Spiedinis; Main Course: Mixed Grill Seafood Skewers, Miso Sesame Grilled Skirt Steak and Pailla D'Espana and for sides: Lemon Olive Couscous, Vegetable Tempura, Lobster Mac and Cheese, and Sweet Corn Cakes.
How about a Clam Bake Menu: For starters: Clams Casino and Mediterranean Summer Salad. For Main Course: Seafood Steamer Basket and Lemon Grass Chicken Skewers and Side dishes: Twice Baked Potatoes, Creamy Cucumber Salad, Corn on the Cob and Roasted Summer Vegetables.
Then how about a Lobster Bake: For starters try: Lobster Mousse Puff Pastry, Mozzella Caprese Salad, Chicken Brochettes and Gulf Coast Crab Cake Sliders; for Main Course: Mayan Shrimp Lollipops, Surf and Turf - Whole Maine Lobsters and Char - Grilled Filet Mignon; and Sides: Fava Bean Puree, Fingerling Potatoes, Corn on the Cob and Poblano - Jack Corn Muffins.
If you choose a sit down dinner instead of a buffet, you can still use a Seashell Water Fountain centerpiece for your guest table. Just make sure the table large enough to place your table top Seashell Water Fountain centerpiece in the center. Make sure if yours is plug in and not battery operated, that it is close enough to an outlet, and place your seashell decorated guestbook and pen in front of it. Don't worry, the water is calm and doesn't splash.
For your guest's beach favors, you could choose any number of other beach themed favors such as sailboat tea light holders, shell and starfish salt and pepper shakers, lighthouse wine charms, sea shell themed coasters, flip flop playing cards, miniature beach pails, or sea shell spreader sets, and here again if you give yourself time, you can make your own favors made of seashells, just cut a hole and drilled through to make key chains.
With these personal touches you will make your wedding personal and memorable. A reception where everyone will feel as if they've been to the beach! So, you can have your beach wedding no matter what!
